    Spanish Scaffold: 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User Course

    El Departamento de Edificios Codigo 3314.4.6 Ciudad de Nueva York requiere que cada trabajador que utiliza un andamio soportado para realizar su trabajo debera completar un programa de entrenamiento de 4 horas cada cuatro años. El curso incluira, la instrucción de la naturaleza de los riesgos eléctricos, riesgos de caída y la caída de objetos, manejo de materiales en los andamios, equipos de protección personal, la naturaleza de los apoyos y las abrazaderas y su eliminación segura, y la carga máxima prevista y la capacidad de manejo de carga de andamios.

    Al completar con exito el curso, el estudiante recibira una tarjeta de identificacion con el apoyo andamio photo ID que es válida por cuatro años a partir de su fecha de emision. Este curso esta disponible en Inglés y Español.

    The New York City Department of Buildings Code 3314.4.6 requires that every worker who uses a supported scaffold to perform his or her job shall complete a 4-hour training program every four years. The course will include "instruction on the nature of electrical hazards, fall and falling object hazards, material handling on scaffolds, personal protection equipment, the nature of braces and tiebacks and their safe removal, and the maximum intended load and load-handling capacities of scaffolds."

    Upon successful completion of the course, the student will receive a supported  scaffold user photo ID card that is valid for four years from its date of issuance. This course is available in English and Spanish.

    32-Hour Supported Scaffold Installer and Remover Course

    The Department of Buildings 2008 Building Code Section 3314.4.5 requires that any person who works on the erection, dismantling, repairing, maintaining, or modifying any supported scaffold over 40 feet in the City of New York must attend a 32-hour Supported Scaffold training course from a DOB approved school.  This training program is based on the US Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Department (OSHA) scaffold safety and training guidelines (29 CFR 1926 Subpart L) and 2008 NYC Building Code (Section 3314) and satisfies DOB requirements for Supported Scaffold certification.  

    After successful completion of this course, you will receive a photo ID certification card as a Scaffold Erector. You will also receive an OSHA outreach certificate for Fall Prevention safety training and a photo ID certification card for 4-hour Supported Scaffold User.  

    To maintain certification, an 8-hour refresher course must be completed every 4 years thereafter. This course is available in English and Spanish.

    8-Hour Supported Scaffold Installer and Remover Refesher Course

    This class is intended for anyone who has taken the 32-Hour Supported Scaffold Erector Class. This course satisfies the New York City Department of Buildings requirement that any person holding a certificate for the erection, dismantling, repairing, maintaining, or modifying of scaffolds over 40 feet high complete an 8-hour refresher course every 4 years. (2008 Building Code Section 3314.4.5)  This training program is based on the US Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Department (OSHA) scaffold safety and training guidelines (29 CFR 1926 Subpart L) and 2008 NYC Building Code (Section 3314).

    Students must submit proof of completion of the 32 hour class, Upon completion of this refresher, you will receive a new photo ID certification card. This course is available in English and Spanish

    30-Hour NYC Department of Buildings Concrete Course

    The Department of Buildings requires a Concrete Safety Manager to be present on all construction sites where a minimum of 2,000 cubic yards of concrete will be poured. These individuals must be fully registered with the Department of Buildings and have their name on the permit application. Students must have a minimum of 5 years experience in concrete operations. Concrete Safety Managers must complete this 30 Hour concrete safety manager course before they can register with the NYC DOB.

    16-Hour Suspended Scaffold Course

    Through our partnership with Certified Site Safety, ISG is pleased to offer the DOB 16-hour Suspended Scaffold User and Refresher course.

    NYC Rigging Rule 9 (1-RCNY 9-03 Chapter 9) requires that workers on a suspended scaffold have a minimum of 16 hours of safety of training from a DOB recognized Scaffold Training Course. This training includes classroom training on OSHA 1926 overview, local regulations, good rigging practices, how to read permits, general principles of fall protection, wire rope & termination techniques, counterweight formulas, and other pertinent topics. It also includes extensive hands on training using both miniature and full-size equipment. Hands on training includes such things as operation of a motor, motor safety features, knot tying, fall protection, self rescue, outrigger set up, using other rigging devices, tiebacks, proper use of ladders, safety equipment, and more.

    Immediately upon completion of the course and after passing our hands-on performance assessment, students will be issued a Suspended Scaffold User photo ID card, which is good for 4 years.

    32-Hour Rigging Foreman Course

    NYC Rigging Rule 9 has always required that the Licensed Rigger or his Designated Rigging Foreman oversee all suspended scaffold operations. As of April 1, 2008 all new Rigging Foreman need a total of 32hrs of Training. They must have the minimum 16hrs of Suspended Scaffold Training, plus an additional 16hrs of training geared specifically for Rigging Foreman. This course involves classroom type dialog to review NYC requirements, how to compile and complete Rigging Log Books, read CD-5s, and verify worker training. There is also in depth hands on training that includes knot tying, using a voltage meter, sling angles, specialized rigging, and inspections. Like the suspended scaffold class workers will receive a plastic photo ID card with a specific DOB tracking number.
